Dealer books and records
A dealer book is an MVA publication with the names and addresses of:
- Licensed vehicle dealers
- Title service agents
- Automotive dismantlers and recyclers
- Scrap processors
- Manufacturers and distributors licensed by the MVA
A dealer record is a copy of the license application or other record the MVA keeps about a dealer or vehicle-related business. You can order a certified copy (official version) or a noncertified copy.
How to order a dealer book or record
- Write a request that explains why you need the dealer book or record.
- Submit your request to the Business Licensing and Compliance Division at the MVA. A supervisor must approve the request before the book or record can be issued.
- Pay the required fee:
- Dealer book mailed: $22
- Dealer book picked up in person: $20
- Dealer record fee will be given to you once approved. Certified copies will cost more.
