Dealer books and records

A dealer book is an MVA publication with the names and addresses of:

• Licensed vehicle dealers
• Title service agents
• Automotive dismantlers and recyclers
• Scrap processors
• Manufacturers and distributors licensed by the MVA 

A dealer record is a copy of the license application or other record the MVA keeps about a dealer or vehicle-related business. You can order a certified copy (official version) or a noncertified copy. 

How to order a dealer book or record

1. Write a request that explains why you need the dealer book or record.
2. Submit your request to the Business Licensing and Compliance Division at the MVA. A supervisor must approve the request before the book or record can be issued.
3. Pay the required fee:
   1. Dealer book mailed: $22
   2. Dealer book picked up in person: $20 
   3. Dealer record fee will be given to you once approved. Certified copies will cost more.
