What is Maryland Mobile ID?
Maryland Mobile ID, is a voluntary way to add a secure, digitized version of your Maryland credential to your mobile wallet, so you have your driver license (DL) or identification card (ID) wherever and whenever you need it.
Adding a digital license or ID card to your phone is all about security, convenience, and ease of use. With your Maryland Mobile ID your phone is the ONLY thing you need to provide for identification purposes at select locations. Maryland Mobile ID allows you to show ONLY the information that needs to be seen.
At this time Maryland Mobile ID is accepted at select airport terminals around the country, sports and music venues, and select restaurants at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Accepting airports are determined by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Please visit TSA.gov for the most up-to-date support for Maryland Mobile ID.
Customers should continue to always carry their physical Driver's License/Identification Card. The Maryland MVA is working with entities that frequently use Driver's Licenses/Identification Cards to familiarize them with the Maryland Mobile ID technology and its uses. Over time, we expect mobile ID acceptance to grow.
