EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT​

Joe, Customer Engagement

As part of the Driver's Manual accessibility project, Joe was asked to look into formatting the Maryland driver's manual in 15 different languages. Every language is unique - some of these languages read right to left, some of them utilize unique punctuation symbols, and so on. This was an immense technical undertaking. Over the course of six months, Joe patiently researched, tested, and adjusted our design software until it fit the needs of each language. Joe then implemented each translation, despite having to rely on punctuation cues to know where a sentence started and ended. It was amazing to see the development of their design skills in real-time, and we are proud to provide Joe’s work to non-English speakers across Maryland.​
