This page explains how licensed vehicle dealers and related businesses can get useful MVA publications and records.
Dealer books
A dealer book is an MVA publication with the names and addresses of:
- Licensed vehicle dealers
- Title service agents
- Automotive dismantlers and recyclers
- Scrap processors
- Manufacturers and distributors licensed by the MVA
How to order a dealer book
- Write a request that explains why you need the dealer book.
- Submit your written request in person or by mail to the Business Licensing and Compliance Division at the MVA. A supervisor must approve the request before the book can be issued.
- Pay the required fee.
Fee for a dealer book
- Dealer book mailed: $22
- Dealer book picked up in person: $20
Dealer record
A dealer record is a copy of the license application or other record the MVA keeps about a dealer or vehicle-related business. You can order a certified copy (official version) or a noncertified copy.
How to order a dealer record
- Write a request that explains why you need the dealer record.
- Submit your written request in person or by mail to the Business Licensing and Compliance Division at the MVA. A supervisor must approve the request before the record is released.
- Pay the required fee. If you want a certified copy, you will pay a bit more.
