Outreach Programs

MDOT MVA outreach programs focus on bringing information, products and resources to all Maryland citizens.  We're helping to get Marylanders access to safe and secure products that keep them, and Maryland moving. Learn more about the programs we offer below and reach out to us at MdotMVA@mdot.maryland.gov.

Homeless Resource Days Outreach
Working with non-profits and communities throughout Maryland, MDOT MVA participates in events to bring resources to homeless individuals who need an identification card (ID) to assist them in getting back on their feet.  During an event, an MDOT MVA outreach agent will assist the customer in determining what is needed to obtain an ID in Maryland and identify next steps for processing and receiving their ID. Download our outreach flyer.

Re-entry Program/Services for Inmates
To assist recently released inmates and/or those currently incarcerated in obtaining identification, MDOT MVA has staff available to visit correctional facilities throughout Maryland, including state and local facilties to help process identification for those customers in need. Address Confidentiality Program
MDOT MVA participates in the Maryland Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program (ACP). The program is administered by the Office of the Secretary of State and provides an important service to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. The goal of the ACP is to help those individuals, who have relocated or are about to relocate, keep their perpetrators from finding them. Visit the Office of the Secretary of State for more information.

Driver and Vehicle Safety Outreach
MDOT MVA is home to the Maryland Highway Safety Office.  With the mission of preventing deaths and injuries on our roadways, the Maryland Highway Safety Office offers outreach to students and other groups on a variety of safety topics, such as drunk and drugged driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving, pedestrian safety, and more.  Visit Zero Deaths MD for more information.
