WHAT: The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration’s (MDOT MVA) Highway Safety Office will join the sheriffs from St. Mary’s, Calvert and Charles counties to announce a new seat belt and distracted driving initiative: Buckle Up. Phone Down.
The tri-county partnership is the first sustained education and enforcement effort of its kind in the state, and will run through August. The campaign encourages motorists to buckle up, every seat, every time, while also reminding drivers to “park” their phones.
