WHAT: The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) will join members of the Maryland State Police (MSP) to remind drivers to plan for a safe and sober ride home ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The event will feature the Maryland State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort – or SPIDRE – team, which will highlight increased enforcement operations targeting impaired drivers. The Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division will also provide a behind the scenes look at the role the Division plays in supporting DUI investigations. From crime scene investigation to latent print examination to toxicology testing, this showcase will highlight not only the time and effort that goes into every investigation, but the far-reaching ramifications that impaired driving can have on the community.
