MDOT MVA Offices And VEIP Stations To Close June 24 For System Updates

Closure and Computer Upgrades Necessary Prior to July 1 to Integrate New IT Data

GLEN BURNIE, MD (June 21, 2017)  The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) will close all offices and Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) stations on Saturday, June 24, for statewide computer upgrades.  These computer upgrades will continue through Sunday, June 25, though MVA Offices are closed on Sundays.

Customers will not be able to conduct web or self-service kiosk transactions this Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  MDOT MVA’s ten self-service VEIP kiosks will remain open.

The temporary shutdown and upgrades are necessary to provide MDOT MVA’s IT team the opportunity to integrate new IT data based on legislation that goes into effect on July 1.  The MVA appreciates customers’ patience during this computer upgrade as we work to provide better service to Maryland residents.  For additional information, please visit our website, mva.maryland.gov or call MDOT MVA’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-950-1MVA (1682).
