In response to the state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MDOT MVA has approved the emergency use of distance learning to provide the certified driver education program only for the period of time a state of emergency is declared in Maryland. Schools offering distance learning have certified that the system they will be using meets all the standards outlined by MDOT MVA, as well as all other regulatory requirements for approval by MDOT MVA. Contact a driving school near you to see if it is certified to provide distance learning.
Customers have a few options. They may drop off tags at any one of our
tag return drop boxes. Customers are able to cancel their insurance once they drop their tags in the return bin. MDOT MVA will use the date on the tag return form as the cancellation date. Additionally, customers may mail in tags to our
Glen Burnie headquarters. For more information on returning tags,
