The Executive Order that has covered all expired driver’s and business licenses, identification cards, permits (including disability parking permits) is expiring. Effective immediately, customers with expired MDOT MVA products from March 12, 2020 must take care of these transactions by the dates below.
Expired Driver's License, CDL, Identification Cards must renew by August 15, 2021.
Expired Vehicle registrations, Business Licenses, Disability Parking Permits and other vehicle-related products must renew by June 30, 2021.
MDOT MVA is reaching out to all customers with expired products to remind them of these deadlines. You can view the new Executive Order that sets the new expiration dates here.

This text was not sent by any agency associated with the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), including the MDOT Motor Vehicle Administration. It is SPAM and has been reported to MDOT’s IT Department. DO NOT click on the link and DELETE the message.

MDOT and its business units would not ask customers to provide this personal information in this way. We take the privacy our customers and their personal information very seriously.

by appointment only until further notice. Make an appointment now. (Please note appointments are not needed for tag returns and use of the self-service kiosks, however a simple health screening is required to enter all branch offices.) Reschedule or cancel an appointment.

Customer Alert - Inclement Weather Closures; the Salisbury branch is operating normally
February 18, 2021
MDOT MVA branches and VEIP stations in the following counties are closed today, Thursday, February 18, 2021: Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore City, Baltimore, Calvert, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s, St. Mary’s, and Washington. Additionally, the Grasonville VEIP is closed.
MDOT MVA will contact customers with appointments and instructions on how to reschedule. To reschedule your appointment now, visit our scheduler.
Salisbury branch is open.
